Race Cancelled

The Organising Committee of the Veteran Fours Head regrets to announce that the 2024 race has been cancelled.

The safe conduct of the race and the safety of competitors and volunteers must be the number one priority for the Organising Committee. A key element in determining the safe conduct of the race is the weather conditions in the areas of the course immediately before, during and immediately after the race.

The Met Office forecast for Saturday morning has consistently shown a very strong south-south-easterly wind direction. The strength of the gust forecasts are outside the parameters for running a safe race.

The Organising Committee will review the costs incurred by cancelling this close to race day and if possible will make a partial refund to crews. There will be updates on this as soon as possible.
